Origina1Nerd - a band name that makes you wonder at first - why the ‘1’ in the name? The origin comes from the stylistic devices that were often used in computer forums to name an account. This is exactly where the original nerds can be found. In the Origina1Nerd forum, five young musicians have come together to compose, arrange and present original music.The result of this process can be found on the band's second album ‘System Overload’ - a mixture of harmonic concepts and improvisation of jazz, compositional and rhythmic elements of progressive rock, emulsified with the help of a wide range of electronic music sounds.Although the notation of many pieces resembles mathematical equations, Origina1Nerd succeeds in finding a highly musical solution for each composition. This was also recognised by the Ton Art Tirol jury, which awarded the band and its musical leader Max Glanz the Tyrolean Youth Jazz Prize 2022.

Following Origina1Nerd's debut album ‘Unknown Error’ from 2022, the follow-up album ‘System Overload’ was released in November 2024, in which the existing compositional concept has been refined and more space has been given to electric effects in addition to the usual acoustic elements. Available on Vinyl and all major streaming platforms.In late 2023 their Single "State of Mind was released and marked their farewell from former drummer Gabor Bedö.In August 2024 the first Single with a featured Artist was realeased - "Tired of Lying" feat.
